Krank has added AI-Assisted Inspections to its Inspeq platform, allowing equipment inspectors to record observations and complete inspection reports while working in the field.
Inspectors can use voice commands to describe findings, capture photos and video and update report fields without stopping to enter information manually. The platform processes the information in real time, links supporting media to inspection items and flags missing information before the inspection is complete.
The feature also uses optical character recognition to capture details such as serial numbers, engine numbers, makes and models from equipment identification plates. Inspectors can add or remove report fields as needed, and voice support is available in multiple languages.
Krank said its internal studies found that AI-Assisted Inspections can reduce inspection completion time by up to 45%, improve field-level accuracy by 32% and eliminate at least 40% of manual data entry.
The feature connects completed inspections and identified issues with assets, work orders, corrective tasks and maintenance records within Inspeq. For construction and equipment rental operations, Krank said the goal is to make inspection findings available sooner without adding reporting work after the inspection.
