NEU, ACI University Launch Low-Carbon Concrete Certificate Program

The new certificate covers low-carbon concrete materials, carbon reduction strategies, design considerations and implementation challenges for concrete professionals.

Neu Low Carbon
ACI, NEU

NEU, an ACI Center of Excellence for Carbon Neutral Concrete, and ACI University have launched a new certificate program focused on low-carbon concrete materials and practices.

Low-Carbon Concrete: Fundamentals, Materials, and Innovations covers the carbon footprint of concrete and cement, lifecycle considerations and strategies for reducing emissions through material selection, design and construction.

The program examines lower-carbon alternatives for portland cement binders and other concrete materials, including their properties, performance, carbon reduction potential, limitations and availability. It also covers design and placement strategies, implementation challenges and specification and verification considerations.

The certificate complements NEU's existing Low-Carbon Concrete: Qualification, Design, and Compliance program and follows topics covered in the organization's The Low-Carbon Concrete Guide: Materials publication.
