Construction of the new Milwaukee Bucks arena in Wisconsin took another step forward after Minneapolis-based Mortenson Construction was named the construction manager for the $500 million project. Other contractors rumored to have been considered for the project included AECOM/Hunt Construction, Turner Construction Co. and Gilbane Building Co.
Construction is expected to begin in July and last at least two years.
The Milwaukee Bucks have committed to meet hiring requirements including 40% city resident hiring and 25% small business enterprises hired on the project.
