Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy has chosen acting Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker as the permanent head of the state agency, a job the former New Jersey Transit executive had held on a trial basis since March.
In a statement, Malloy said after a national search for eligible candidates that began last September, Redeker's interim leadership demonstrated he was well-suited to the job of executing Malloy's transportation policies, praising Redeker's "confidence and vision" and ability to lead during difficult budget negotiations.
