Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. awards 24 Eagle Awards.

A total of 24 commercial construction companies received Eagle Awards on Thursday at the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc.'s annual Excellence in Construction awards banquet. Judging for this year's competition was done by an out-of-state ABC chapter. In all, awards were presented in 53 categories. There were more than 100 entries.

This year's top winner was Flintco Inc. with 10 Eagle Awards. Manhattan Construction Co. received five and Crossland Heavy Contractors, Oil Capital Electric, Fleming Building Co. and Green Country Interiors each earned three Eagle Awards. The most honored project was the Broken Arrow Public Schools Performing Arts Center, which received Eagle Awards in three categories. Tulsa's River Spirit Casino received top recognition in two categories. Two $100 Million mega-projects were recognized. Manhattan earned an award for the Downstream Casino, and Flinto was honored for the Oklahoma State University T. Boone Pickens Stadium expansion. Each local winner is now eligible to move on to ABC's national competition. Winners at that level will be announced in February at the association's annual convention in San Diego, Calif. Cantera Concrete Co.: "Other Specialty Construction (precast concrete)" for Great Plains Prison; "Other Specialty Construction (cast-in-place concrete)" for Muskogee Community Hospital. Central Electric Co. of Tulsa: "Electrical Industrial $1 Million to $2 Million" for Webco Industries; "Electrical Commercial Under $1 Million" for University of Phoenix. Coreslab Structures (Okla.): "Other Specialty Construction (precast concrete)" for Payne County Jail and Courthouse. Coronado Drywall Inc.: "Interior Contractor Under $1 Million" for Student Life Learning Center. Crossland Construction Co.: "Renovation $2 Million to $4 Million" for Jenks Cafeteria; "Institutional $5 Million to $10 Million" for Langston University Student Services Center. Crossland Heavy Contractors: "Other General Construction (fountains/ playground)" for 41st Street Plaza; "Public Works/Environmental" for Northside Wastewater Treatment Plant; "Infrastructure/Heavy $5 Million to $10 Million" for River Parks Trail.
