HCSS to Award 17 College Scholarships to Students in Construction-related Fields

As part of its Intern of the Year $50,000 scholarship program HSCC will award 17 scholarships and $10,000 to the Intern of the Year winner

For the third consecutive year, construction software developer HCSS, will host a scholarship program for college students in construction-related fields. This year’s application process kicks off August 1, and eligible students can visit www.constructioninternawards.com to register. In mid-November, HCSS will award a total of $50,000 in college scholarships to 17 students who completed an internship with construction companies. The grand prize, Intern of the Year winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

“The construction industry builds the infrastructure that is essential for the growth of our nation, and we must continually attract dedicated and qualified students to the industry,” says Mike Rydin, CEO of HCSS. “Our scholarship program is one way we give back to the industry for which we have a passion and privilege to serve.”

Program details

Starting August 1, students can apply for a scholarship at www.constructioninternawards.com by filling out the brief questionnaire summarizing details of their internship. To be eligible for the 2017 program, college students must have completed a construction-related internship lasting at least two months during the 2016-2017 school year or summer of 2017. Participants must have been enrolled in a college, university or trade school for the 2016-2017 school year.

Of the 17 semifinalists, eight will be chosen by popular vote and nine by an expert selection committee. Semifinalists are guaranteed to receive at least a $2,000 scholarship and will move on to a voting panel comprised of prestigious construction industry experts. The panel will select four finalists receiving $4,000 scholarships and the Intern of the Year, who will be awarded the $10,000 scholarship grand prize.

Joining Rey Diaz, 2016 Intern of the Year, on the prestigious selection panel will be:
