Industrial Caulk and Seal (ICS) President David V. Botley recently participated in one of the American Society of Concrete Contractor's (ASCC) Management Information Xchange (M.I.X.) group meetings with T. Gerding Companies located in Corvallis, Ore. The ASCC M.I.X. groups were established to bring together contractors representing a multitude of different facets of concrete construction. The focus of the M.I.X. group meetings is to provide valuable insight from other owners and business leaders with fresh perspectives.

The ASCC M.I.X. group held in Corvallis included contractors from Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, the Mid Atlantic and Oregon. The standard format includes four intensive days of office and site visits, key employee interviews, and a comprehensive review of the contractors systems whether they be financial or situational in nature. Following the analysis, the group works cooperatively to establish and present a full S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to the host business owner. Botley and ICS have been involved in the ASCC M.I.X. group process throughout 2018 and 2019.

"Having been involved with hundreds of the various leadership and business coaching for over 30 years, the ASCC M.I.X. groups are the single best source at providing valuable insight and ideas to my business," says Botley. "Each M.I.X. group provides more takeaways and valuable information in leading a growing business than any other single source and provides real world opportunities to gain insight into your own business."

ASCC's M.I.X. group format includes monthly online meetings and twice annual visits from the group to a host contractor location. ICS plans to host a meeting in 2020.
