The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) has announced its inaugural Concrete Pavement Week will be held June 28-July 4, 2026. Observance of the week is coordinated with a significant date for U.S. infrastructure—President Eisenhower signed the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 (National Interstate & Defense Highways Act) on June 29, 1956.

This dedicated week underscores the critical role of concrete pavement in delivering long-lasting, sustainable, and high-performing roadways for communities. It offers the opportunity to inform stakeholders and the public about ongoing investments in infrastructure and the proven benefits provided by concrete roadways. With unmatched service life and resilience, concrete pavement minimizes maintenance demands, improves safety, and supports fiscal responsibility.

While Concrete Pavement Week is spearheaded by ACPA National, chapters and affiliated state paving associations are key to the week’s success. These regional and local bodies have the opportunity to request formal proclamations from their local governments, putting the week on record; perform coordinated online outreach in the form of social media campaigns; and organize events and activities that bring the industry and the public together. The combination of national leadership and local action is expected to help Concrete Pavement Week grow in importance over the coming years.

Concrete Pavement Week is also an opportunity to recognize the contributions of public work agencies, state highway agencies, material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, cement producers, and researchers for the efforts they invest in public roadways.
