The Concrete Foundations Association (CFA) announced that voting for the 2013 Projects of the Year is now available online at the CFA website. The Projects of the Year represent the leading projects across the breadth of cast-in-place concrete solutions produced by association members as well as the technical challenges overcome by the professional craftsmen found throughout the North American markets.
Each year, professional wall contractors from across North America that are active in CFA membership submit some of their most challenging, highest quality or most intriguing works for the industry to evaluate. Displayed through the CFA's website and voted on by the many visitors to that site as well as during the World of Concrete in Las Vegas in the Association’s booth, winning projects are evaluated by the industry at large based on popularity and the established criteria.
Projects are submitted in these categories:
- Single Family Residence under 2,000 sq. ft.
- Single Family Residence 2,000-5,000 sq. ft.
- Single Family Residence over 5,000 sq. ft.
- Commercial/Multi-Family
- Non-wall Structural Element
- Above-grade Concrete Home
Projects entered to the competition this year are from the continental United States spanning from California to North Carolina and represent some of the top projects ever recorded to the CFA.
New this year
A new feature for this year’s presentation of the submitted projects is a press and Q&A opportunity for some of the submitting companies. The CFA booth #C4537 at World of Concrete will feature large floor displays for each project and representatives have been scheduled for 30-minute sessions to talk about the project, its challenges and answer any questions. Visitors to the booth are able to vote at that time or are directed to the website for voting at their convenience and experiencing even more of the spectacle each of these projects represent. The schedule presently available for these presentations includes:
Tuesday, February 5th
10:00 am Sean Smith – Modern Poured Walls
10:30 am Barry Herbert – Herbert Construction Company
Wednesday, February 6th
10:00 am Neal Weiler – Weiler Walls, Inc.
Thursday, February 7th
10:00 am Randy Groome – Balmer Brothers
