The Connecticut Ready Mixed Concrete Association (CRMCA) was awarded the 2018 State Affiliate of the Year award by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) at the annual luncheon for state affiliate organizations March 6th. The award ceremony was part of the annual NRMCA convention held at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa Florida.
The State Affiliate Award recognizes the state association that works to promote the use of ready mixed concrete and the national Build with Strength awareness campaign. The Connecticut Ready Mixed Concrete Association (CRMCA) was recognized for its work in 2018 to promote concrete. Don Penepent, of Tilcon Conn. and Treasurer of the CRMCA commented, “This is great news and speaks highly of all those involved in the state of Connecticut involved in the promotion of ready mixed concrete in construction. Recognition of our association by the NRMCA gives us a great opportunity to grow our Connecticut Concrete Promotion Council”.
Accepting the award for the CRMCA were Ric Suzio, CRMCA Board member and President of L. Suzio Concrete Company, Meriden Conn. and Dominic Di Cenzo, Executive Director of the Connecticut Concrete Promotion Council (CCPC) for the Connecticut Ready Mixed Concrete Association. In his remarks, Di Cenzo thanked all of the personnel of the CCIA Headquarters, many NRMCA personnel and singled out NRMCA’s Gregg Lewis, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Concrete for “his tireless and never-ending support of the Connecticut Ready Mixed Concrete Association and all of the New England region.” Di Cenzo dedicated the award to the late James Langlois, past Executive Director of the CCPC, who passed away in January, 2016.
