UPDATE: STAFDA Anaheim Convention Cancelled, Virtual Event Being Developed

Due to the State of California’s shutdown on Monday, July 13, 2020, reverting back to Phase 1 with no reopening date on the horizon, this unfortunate and unforeseeable circumstance is forcing STAFDA to cancel its November 8-10 Convention & Trade Show in Anaheim at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The COVID-related conditions in California are beyond STAFDA’s control making it impossible for us to move forward with our meeting.

STAFDA was taking every safety protocol to safeguard attendees’ health and well-being and commends Visit Anaheim and the Anaheim Convention Center on being leaders in wellness and biorisk safety. Both STAFDA and Anaheim officials took all the necessary steps to ensure our November Convention would be a success. 

Registrations for Anaheim got off to an impressive start. STAFDA is grateful for the support from members who want to return to its people-centric, hands-on way of doing business.  

A virtual option is being developed and once the details are finalized, STAFDA members will be notified. This would include workshop speakers, the keynoter from its general session, along with the two State of the Industry speeches and a virtual component to the trade show.

Members who booked rooms at the Anaheim Marriott and Hilton Anaheim are encouraged to cancel their hotel reservations.

The STAFDA office will begin issuing refunds to members who’ve registered for the Anaheim meeting.

This is the first time STAFDA has ever had to cancel its Convention & Trade Show, but just like other industry shows and co-ops have experienced this year, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the meetings industry.

The group is planning on an in-person convention at STAFDA/Charlotte, November 7-9, 2021.


ln today's unprecedented time of canceled industry meetings, Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) is offering distributors in the construction/industrial channel whose organization's annual meeting was canceled, to attend STAFDA's upcoming November 8-10 Anaheim Convention & Trade Show for this year only.

The construction/industrial channel is a people-centric, hands-on business where networking, education and seeing new products are key. COVID-19 has taken away that opportunity for many groups this year and STAFDA wants to extend an invitation to distributors who have missed out on their own vertical channel's convention or coop meeting to connect with like-minded peers in a safe environment.

STAFDA is not targeting a specific association or organization, but rather all walks of distributors in the construction/industrial channel. They are encouraged to visit STAFDA's website, www.stafda.org, to learn more about the Anaheim Convention & Trade Show, review the agenda, safety precautions, exhibitor list and pricing.

NonSTAFDA distributors will be able to register for the Anaheim meeting starting July 15 from STAFDA's website. A registration link will be posted to STAFDA's home page under the Convention tab.

Non-STAFDA distributor members' registration fee will be slightly higher than STAFDA members' cost to attend.

STAFDA hopes non-member distributors of other associations or co-ops will take advantage of this one-time, unique offering as we strive to get our lives and businesses back to normal.
