The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has officially announced the soon opening of a third Resource Center. Located in Columbia, Maryland, the new center is set to serve the mid-Atlantic based communities in the concrete industry and help meet the increased demand for ACI knowledge through hands-on training, educational offerings, and on–demand access to ACI Certification Programs.

ACI Resource Centers offer a diverse array of custom training programs designed to communicate required skills and demonstrate test methods in order to achieve certification. In addition to custom training programs, the new Mid-Atlantic Resource Center offers education programs on popular industry topics such as design, fundamentals, repair, slabs, and more.

Back in 2019 during that year's fall ACI Convention, the ACI Board of Direction approved of the development of the three centers. Four years later, that goal has come to fruit. Additional ACI Resource Centers are located in Elk Grove, Illinois (just outside of Chicago) and San Bernardino, California.

Michael Morrison, FACI, FASTM, ACI Certification Program Development Manager, says the east coast location was strategically located to continue the expansion of ACI knowledge for the concrete industry. “We’re eager to bring regularly scheduled and on-demand certification programs, educational seminars, hands-on training, and more to the region,” says Morrison.

According to the August 17 announcement, ACI says the Mid-Atlantic Resource Center will be open for business on Tuesday, September 5.
