[VIDEO] Contractor Uses iAuditor to Work 2.5 million Hours without Loss-time Injury

Level 10 Construction uses SafetyCulture's iAuditor app to successfully complete construction of a 54-story high rise in downtown San Francisco with no loss-time injuries

Working on a 54-story high rise building in the middle of downtown San Francisco -- The 181 Fremont project -- comes with its unique challenges. One million people commute into the city on a daily basis. Level 10 Construction needed to ensure the building could resist earthquakes of an 8.0+ magnitude and be able to be occupied the very next day. SafetyCulture iAuditor was No. 1 tool of choice to ensure not only the safety of workers, but the one million commuters surrounding the site each day. They performed 2.5 million man hours with no loss-time injury.

Inside SafetyCulture's iAuditor, Level 10 was able to set up custom, pre-task checklists such as a job hazard analysis for site inspections and share them with the local contractor community for input to ensure they were comprehensive, up-to-date and accurate.

With iAuditor loaded on mobile devices, superintendents and other key team members could now stay in the field and walk around the site with their iPads, run through the checklists and immediately get the information they needed without having to report back to the front office.

Once inspections were completed, a digital sign-off feature allowed each member to have accountability for their task to meet Level 10 Construction’s safety and quality guidelines. With one click, their audit findings are distributed to all the contractors and team members immediately. Safety managers were seeing reports in real-time with notes and pictures of items that need action.

“Our superintendents and foremen are able to track the progress of the day. And it all sits in the SafetyCulture database” said Conrad Banez, Certified Health and Safety Technologist.

“It (IAuditor) gives me the ability to deal with our safety on site 24 hours a day” said Steve DeWees.

Being able to communicate issues rapidly in one centralized program enables Level 10 Construction not only to correct potential safety issues but it also allows management to spot and promote positive safety practices.

“200 construction workers, 24/7 and our expectation is zero incidents. And with SafetyCulture iAuditor, that enables us to achieve that.”- Conrad Banez, Certified Health and Safety Technologist
