Buildxact has introduced a new suite of AI-powered tools designed to help residential builders, remodelers, and contractors manage projects more efficiently and improve profitability. The platform’s latest updates include several intelligent features under the new “Blu” assistant, aimed at simplifying takeoffs, generating and reviewing estimates and improving overall workflow.
New AI-Driven Features
Blu: Takeoff Assistant allows users to upload plans that are automatically scaled and labeled, with pages named based on plan details. The tool generates hands-free perimeter measurements and includes new functionality for editing takeoff areas without restarting.
Blu: Estimate Generator creates kitchen and bathroom renovation estimates using regional labor and material data, pulling real-time pricing from suppliers such as The Home Depot. More project types, including full-home builds and extensions, will be added in future updates.
Blu: Estimate Reviewer analyzes submitted estimates to flag missing items and suggest improvements. Users can enter project-specific information — like room type or energy rating — and receive a checklist of recommendations ranging from insurance considerations to compliance items.
Platform Enhancements
In addition to AI tools, Buildxact’s platform now includes:
- Digital signatures for fast approvals on quotes and change orders.
- Timesheets via the Buildxact Onsite app, allowing teams to log time by project and category.
- Improved client selections to help homeowners make faster, clearer decisions during projects.
Flexible Pricing Model
Buildxact is also rolling out a new pricing structure that allows users to scale tools as their business grows. All plans include unlimited users and access to training and support.
These updates aim to make it easier for smaller residential construction businesses to compete more effectively and manage jobs with greater speed and accuracy — without adding overhead or complexity.
