Construction has seen many changes in recent years, and with that comes the rise of women who are leveraging technology to take the industry in new directions.
To recognize the women who are doing just that, the editors at Constructech magazine have announced the winners of the 2017 Women in Construction award and the 2017 Women Consultants in Construction award.
For the past three years, the Women in Construction award has honored women in the industry who have gone above and beyond to transform work on the jobsite and in the office, through the use of technology. This year’s list brings together a diverse group of women who are breaking ground on new processes to improve productivity and efficiency at the jobsite, while opening doors for more women entering the space.
Submissions were made to the editorial staff at Constructech magazine who chose the most successful women working within the construction community who are taking advantage of technology and represent some of the most innovative construction companies in the country.
“It’s encouraging to see women in the workforce use technology in new ways,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech magazine and president of Specialty Publishing Media. “Their out-of-the-box thinking extends to those around them and the projects they work on to set new precedents for innovation within their companies and the industry overall.”

In addition, to honoring the women driving the use of new solutions in the construction industry, Constructech magazine is also pleased to unveil the winners of first Women Consultants in Construction award. The award recognizes the women who are helping guide the use of technology across the construction industry.
Each of these women specializes in different areas such as accounting, modeling, or design, but all are passionate about helping their clients succeed.
“While there are many women who are eligible, only a few stood out as leading the charge for advising innovation,” says Laura Black, editor, Constructech magazine. “They provide integrity and advice when construction companies need it the most.”
