Palm Beach County, FL – In this interview, Bethany Chambers sits down with Eric Rouleau and Jason Beloin from Drymension Group in Palm Beach County, Florida, to discuss their experience using Fiberock from USG. They explore how this American-made product is shaping the future of custom home construction and their commitment to quality and innovation in the industry.
Jason Beloin: I started in 2007 as a layout and metal framer and moved my way up. I ended up moving into the office doing estimates and at one point we had the opportunity to purchase the company with Rich and Eric. So we took that opportunity and we've been running it for about 10 years now.
Eric Rouleau: It's such a robust and really strong product and it's heavy also.
Jason Beloin: As time goes on, technology plays a bigger factor in everything, in all our lives. And what we've found is that from materials to devices, automation and all these custom homes that we do, it's all about the newest, latest and greatest. And, with Fiberock and some of the other products that USG offers, we can achieve these designs that are being drawn up that are really difficult to do with traditional products. Whether they're not strong enough to support an item that's hanging out there on its own or to finish a wall that's got 400 lights shining on it plus the natural lighting outside coming in at a different angle. Fiberock is really a product that helps us meet the needs of design versus constructability.
Jason Beloin: It usually takes about 20 percent longer to hang Fiberock versus standard Titebx board. And you save that time in the finishing. But it's not about time savings. It's about delivering the finest product. Fiberock is a certified product. It's 95 percent recycled. And that's a huge credit when we’re developing these projects. And of course, being more efficient is always gonna help.
Jason Beloin: These types of homes, because of how custom they are, I don't know how much more modular you can get with them. I think in commercial, that's what you're going to see more and more is kind of modular wall panels that are kind of pre-built and installed. We’ve started to see that with some of our high-end retail clients, but it's not commonplace yet. And I'm sure that as technology does advance, we'll see some more of that. But in these custom homes, it's very hard to do that. We have so many details and so many things tying together and then the finishes that go on top of our walls. It doesn't allow you to do things that way. We're not your typical drywall company. We only go after the finest of the best of the best. And to do that, you have to have good support. Which includes products to use, starting with USG, and then having a good team behind you.
Eric Rouleau: We're just so passionate about quality.
