Kubota's 3-tonne KX033-4 compact excavator can carry two hydraulic attachments -- a hammer and a thumb, for example -- at the same time and both can remain plumbed into the auxiliary hydraulic system. A diverter valve diverts oil flow to one attachment at a time, so that hydraulic lines do not have to be uncoupled and reconnected when the operator wants to use the other attachment.
