Caterpillar’s new Cat 308 CR Fixed Boom mini excavator replaces the 307.5 with more power, higher hydraulic output and a compact radius design for confined jobsites.
The 8-ton machine reduces rear overhang by up to 67% depending on counterweight setup and is powered by a 69-hp Cat C2.8 turbo engine that meets EU Stage V and U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final standards. A wider undercarriage and added operating weight improve lifting stability, while optional long-stick configurations increase digging depth and reach.
Load-sensing hydraulics support auxiliary attachments, and existing 307.5 work tools remain compatible. Optional Cat Indicate, E-Fence and Cat Grade systems add grade guidance and motion limits to help operators avoid obstacles.
The excavator also features a sealed cab, updated monitor, joystick travel control and rear and side cameras.
