Haulotte's sales were up 17.6 percent in the first half of 2014, helping the company achieve a 35-percent increase in EBITDA.
According to a report released by the company, Haulotte's total revenues for the first half of 2014 were up 17.6% to € 207 million (US$ 269 million), compared to €149.3 for the first six months of 2013, reflecting an 18.4-percent increase. Revenues from services were up 20.9% to €19.7 million (US$ 24.6 million), due to increased activity from rental companies.
Higher sales contributed to a 35-percent increase in EBITDA, which rose to €19.3 million (US$ 25 million).
“The global market for powered access platforms has continued the favourable trend observed during 2013, but is now driven by Europe and Asia Pacific,” a company statement said. Half-year growth in Europe was 29 percent and North America 26 percent. Asia Pacific business increased 22 percent. Latin America was weaker, with a 31-percent decrease.
Haulotte expects full-year growth of more than 15 percent due to the rebound of the European market. The company attributes that growth to the aging of aerial fleets as opposed to any real improvement in the economic outlook.
During the second quarter, Haulotte Group acquired a 50-percent stake in its Turkish distributor.
