FIFA: North Korean Workers Suffered Human Rights Abuse During Stadium Construction

FIFA finds North Korean construction workers faced health and safety, timely payment of salaries and accommodation incompliances

FIFA has acknowledged that North Korean workers endured "appalling labor conditions" during construction of the Zenit Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia, for the 2018 World Cup.

According to FIFA, "The incompliances identified included issues related to health and safety, timely payment of salaries and accommodation.

The general contractor is being required to take immediate action to rectify the identified issues.
