Caltrans approves nearly $3.4 billion for 90 major accelerated transportation projects including nearly 1,200 lane miles of pavement repair and 66 bridges thanks to the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, which passed back in April. Caltrans has expedited nearly $5 billion in "fix-it-first" projects since spring.

In addition to the bridge and pavement repairs, the projects will also include repairing more than 300 culverts and drainage systems and installing nearly 2,400 traffic management system elements designed to reduce congestion.
