More than 300 customers and members of the press gathered in Seattle for three days of meetings and speeches focused on the company's "history of building the future." Highlights included a visit to Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners, to hear Terex AWP President Matt Fearon speak about Genie's humble beginnings and its history of innovation.

The venue also showcased new Genie machines on display, including the first model in the new XC line, the SX-135XC self-propelled telescopic boom, which includes 90 feet of outreach and 660 lbs. of unrestricted lift capacity. Also on display was the Z-60/37FE fuel-electric hybrid articulating boom, which Director of Engineering Chad Hislop calls "the product of the future."

Guests were treated to a festive gala at Seattle’s EMP (Experience Music Project) Museum, as well as tours of the company's brand new headquarters building in Redmond. Of note in the new facility is a wall dedicated to the history of the company, which was founded in 1966 by Bud Bushnell, who built the company on his design for an aluminum hoist for bringing people closer to their work at height.
