The LR 1600/2 from Liebherr features the SL main boom, which can be erected with a length of up to 335 ft. without the derrick system. A 354-ft. SL system with 39-ft. fixed jib is available, which can be erected to under-hook heights of 380 ft. without derrick or second crane. With load capacities of over 210,000 lbs., this configuration is suited for mounting wind turbines from the 3-MW class atop 328-ft. towers. With the derrick system, the same turbines can also be mounted on 394-ft. towers. The unit has a 660-ton maximum load capacity with 157-ft. main boom and derrick at a 33-ft. working radius. Its maximum 630-ft. system length is achieved with a 472-ft. main boom and 472-ft. luffing jib in operation with the derrick system. Other features include a six-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine, six winches for crane operation and a cab with a second seat and three LICCON monitors.
