Snorkel to Unveil Big New Scissor and Boom at CONEXPO

60-ft. scissor lift expected to be the tallest available

Aerial lift maker Snorkel will showcase a new family of twin-deck scissor lifts at CONEXPO, featuring the S6090RT with a deck height of 60 ft.. The company expects the 6090RT to be the tallest lift of its type on the market. The unit has a lift capacity of 1,250 lbs., width of 90 ins. and dual deck extensions can extend work area to nearly 24 ft.

Powered by a Kubota 44-hp. water-cooled diesel, the S6090RT tops a four-unit line of twin-deck, rough-terrain construction scissors which also includes lifts with platform heights of 32 ft., 43 ft. and 52 ft. The machine features auto-levelling hydraulic outriggers. Customers can specify smaller units with no stabilzers for level-ground applications.

Smaller units offer platform capacities of up to 2,000 lbs. and all four units offer the 72-by-287-in. extended platform area. Rough-terrain capability is ensured by four-wheel drive, high-grip tires and standard oscillating axles, with a 14-in. (350mm) ground clearance.

Snorkel demonstrates its continued development of its mid-sized boom range with the launch of the latest addition to the Polaris family, the all-new A62JRT articulated rough-terrain boom lift.

Preliminary specifications are for a platform height of 62 ft., outreach of 42 ft. and up-and-over clearance height of 30 ft. Additional versatility is provided by the 8-ft. jib and Snorkel's spacious 8-ft.-wide, three-way entry platform with 500 lbs. capacity.

The A62JRT is the first articulated boom on Snorkel's new common Polaris chassis, first introduced in 2010 on the T46JRT telescopic boom. Since its introduction, the powerful drive train, excellent ground clearance and oscillating axles of this chassis have been widely praised for class-leading drive speed and rough terrain performance. Utilizing a common chassis across several mid-size models (also including the forthcoming T66JRT) provides customers with ease of maintenance and low cost of operation.

The A62JRT replaces the Snorkel AB60, offering significantly improved drive and lift performance (particularly 'up-and-over' clearance), substantially reduced tail swing and more pleasing appearance, while retaining ease of maintenance and repair.
