A $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture is helping LEVER Architecture in its bid to pioneer the use of cross-laminated timber (CTL) for a high-rise tower in Portland. In addition to helping alleviate the costs to build the 12-story CTL, the grant will also help developers create a set of data about how CLT stands up to regulations that other developers can then use for future CLT projects.
