General Motors is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 heavy duty pickup trucks and Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles due to the brake-pedal pivot nut that may loosen, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative.

The National Highway Traffic Safety recall says that if the pedal becomes loose, the driver may be unable to stop the vehicle using the brake pedal, and it may also interfere with the accelerator pedal.

The recall affects more than 450,000 model year ’15 and ‘16 Silverado 2500 and 3500 heavy duty trucks manufactured October 1, 2013, to February 1, 2016, ’15 and ‘16 Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles manufactured March 1, 2014, to February 1, 2016, and ’15 and’16 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 heavy duty trucks manufactured October 29, 2013, to February 1, 2016.
