The new Ram Heavy Duty Trucks lay claim to three best-in-class performance measures: towing, payload and power.
- Ram 3500 models with Cummins High-Output 6.7-liter diesels get a new rating that increased torque to 865 lb.-ft.
- Ram 3500 retains its class- leading maximum tow rating of 30,000 lb., nearly 1.5 tons more than the closest competitor
- Gross vehicle weight rating of the 3500 HD with 6.4-liter HEMI V8 increased 100 lb., raising the pickup truck’s payload capacity to 7,390 lb.
Ram 2500 has a segment-exclusive five-link coil rear suspension intended to improve ride and handling when the truck is loaded and unloaded. An optional rear air suspension offers automatic load leveling.
Ram 3500 continues to feature the rear Hotchkiss leaf spring system, but offers a supplemental air suspension system. Adding air bags to the rear suspension allows Ram to soften the leaf springs, allowing for more unladed suspension movement while maintaining the 30,000-lb. towing capacity.
Ram maintains credibility and customer confidence as the only automaker to align with SAE J2807 towing standard in its heavy duty pickup truck line
A three-link front suspension ensures roll stiffness across the Ram HD line.
- The optional 6.4-liter HEMI V8 leads pickups with gasoline engines, generating 410 hp and peak torque of 429 lb.-ft.
- 2015 Ram 2500 holds best-in-class 17,970 lb. of towing capacity
- Factory-installed seven-pin trailer tow connector in the truck bed, included with optional fifth-wheel or gooseneck tow prep package
- Standard electronic stability control (ESC) on single and dual-rear-wheel equipped trucks
- Hydro-mounts at C-pillar positions for what Ram calls class-leading noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) characteristics
- Exclusive cargo camera, power folding mirrors and a combination, power rear-sliding window with defrost
- Five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty
The first 2015 Ram Heavy Duty trucks begin rolling off the Chrysler Group’s Saltillo Truck Assembly line in Coahuila, Mexico, this week.
