The prototype e240 Green Machine electric excavator, which is on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, showcases Takeuchi’s proprietary WhisperDrive Lithium powertrain, which is 50% quieter than a diesel and is ideal for indoor and urban environments. The Lithium-ion WhisperTech Battery System recharges from a standard 220V outlet and charges from empty to full in 10 hours.

The 63-hp excavator has an operating weight of 8,570 lbs., dig depth of 11 ft. 4.4 in., maximum reach of 18 ft. 2.3 in. and bucket breakout force of 9,959 lbs.

The e240 is on display to solicit feedback as development continues. No date for availability has been set at this time.
