Milwaukee Tool Starts Construction of New Facility

Milwaukee Tool has announced construction on its newest facility in Mississippi. Located in Grenada County, Mississippi, Milwaukee's latest expansion will accommodate the company’s growing power tool accessories and power tool business and will also serve as a centralized repair facility. The new location will create more than 800 new jobs and is planned to open in mid-2023.

“We’re thrilled to, once again, expand our footprint in the state of Mississippi, where we’ve been able to recruit some of the best talent in the country,” said Steve Richman, Milwaukee Tool Group president. “Our success is the result of our talented people and the culture we’ve created; it is unparalleled in the industry. We are committed to investing in new talent, and the right opportunities to continue meeting the needs of our distributor and user partners with the speed and agility that defines who we are as a company.”

Milwaukee is investing more than $60 million into advanced technology and manufacturing equipment at their new 563,000-square-foot Grenada location. The facility will house critical accessory manufacturing capabilities and will join the company’s other service hub in Greenwood, Ind., as one of Milwaukee Tool’s main axis points for service operations.

Milwaukee Tool, which employs more than 10,000 people in the U.S., has continually expanded their footprint domestically and globally as their company experiences incredible double-digit growth. In Mississippi, the company has invested more than $209 million in domestic expansion projects over the last five years and employs 4,400 people.

Hyundai Construction Names Dealer for WV

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas announced a dealership agreement with Shafer Equipment, Charleston, W.Va., under which Shafer Equipment will sell and service Hyundai wheel loaders and excavators in West Virginia.

Jim Shafer, owner of Shafer Equipment, said the agreement to represent Hyundai will help the dealership meet the growing demand for earth-moving equipment in key customer segments including pipeline construction, aggregates and general construction.

“We’re very impressed with Hyundai’s excavators and wheel loaders,” said Shafer, who established the family-owned dealership in 2011. “They offer a combination of power, durability and technology that our customers will appreciate.”

Terex Opens New Georgia Service Center

Terex Utilities has opened a new Terex Service Center in Georgia. The brand-new location in Atlanta was built-to-suit, offering full-service repair facilities, as well as inspections, preventative maintenance, transfers and rebuilds, and more.

“Atlanta continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the southeast U.S., and our new service center is strategically located to provide our local customers convenient access to parts, service, and field technicians when and where they need them,” said Mike Charles, director, regional operations - East for Terex Utilities.

The Atlanta location is opening in May 2022 and adds additional support for our customers in the southeast U.S., along with existing locations in Birmingham, Ala., Whitehouse, Tenn. and Charlotte, N.C. The Atlanta service center is situated on five acres and is equipped with 14 drive-thru bays, a wash bay and two 10-ton OHD bridge cranes to support all utility and aerial equipment repair needs.

“Expanding our footprint of service centers in key markets enables Terex Utilities to strengthen our partnership with our customers by providing them parts and service, plus access to the latest technical training and technology, for Terex and Genie brands and other equipment,” said Charles. “Terex Services continues to evaluate other markets for 2022,” he added.

Bryan Kornhaus, branch manager, has been named to lead the sales and service teams at the Atlanta location. He comes to Terex from a full-line rental company, where he had operational and sales responsibility for multiple locations. He has 16 years of experience serving customers in and around the heavy equipment industry.

Mountainview Equipment Becomes Merlo Dealer

Mountainview Equipment Company with locations across Idaho and Washington, is adding Merlo telehandlers to its product line.

“In researching adding another line to Mountainview’s line up, we found Merlo telehandlers to be the most complementary to our current equipment line up.” Bill George, Sales Manager said. “We were looking for equipment that would make material handling for our customers easier and safer. Merlo’s Turbofarmer line of telehandlers pack a lot of power and nimbleness into every machine. Our customers will appreciate the versatility these machines will bring to their operations.”

Mountainview Equipment Company chose the TF38.10 with a lift height of 31 feet and max. operating capacity of 8,400 lbs., the TF 42.7 with a lift height of 24 ft., 7 in. and max. operating capacity of 9,250 lbs. They also added in the P27.6PLUS. The P27.6PLUS may be the smallest of the Merlo telehandlers and has a 19 ft., 4 in. lift, and 6,000 lb. max. capacity.

Along with expanding their Agriculture offerings, Mountainview has added the Merlo P40.17PLUS. A heavy-duty telehandler with independent front stabilizers.

“While they are an agriculture-oriented dealership, Mountainview brought in the P40.17PLUS to take advantage of the need for construction telehandlers in all their markets, such as the booming city of Boise, Idaho,” said Austin Bailey, AMS-Merlo sales manager. “With the P40.17PLUS being one of the most popular models from both a sales and rental aspect, this model made the most sense for them to begin their expansion into the construction market.”

Minnich Announces Top Dealers of 2021

Minnich Manufacturing, a manufacturer of concrete dowel pin drills, concrete vibrators and vibrator monitoring systems, has announced its top dealers of 2021. Minnich has more than 90 dealers in North America.

Logan Contractors Supply, Inc. achieved two top dealer awards — one for overall dealer performance and another for Minnich’s 10-state Midwest region — for the seventh year in a row.

The family-owned company is a one-stop shop for contractor needs. Logan Contractors Supply offers materials, supplies, equipment and expertise for paving, patching, commercial, repair, decorative and general flatwork. It provides new and used equipment, rental, parts and service via locations in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

Northern Region Top Dealer: Chas. E. Phipps (Cleveland, Ohio)

Chas. E. Phipps achieved 2021 top dealer honors for Minnich’s 17-state northern region. Since 1921, the Chas. E. Phipps company has helped concrete contractors put work in place by supplying high-quality, innovative products and equipment, technical expertise, and trusted service with construction building materials and concrete rental equipment.

Southern Region Top Dealer: Live Oak Construction Supply, Inc. (Norcross, Ga.)

Live Oak Construction Supply earned top dealer honors for 2021 in Minnich’s 11-state southern region. The family-owned and operated company provides equipment, tools and materials to the concrete construction industry trades, from decorative to road and bridge construction. It is one of the only construction supply outlets in the greater Atlanta area that offers not only a broad range of materials, supplies and equipment but also rental equipment and a full-service repair shop.

Western Region Top Dealer: White Cap Supply Holdings

White Cap attained the 2021 top dealer honor in Minnich’s 12-state western region. Based in Norcross, Ga., and operating 450 branches across the U.S. and Canada, the company has served professional contractors for more than 45 years, providing concrete accessories, tools and equipment to meet their distinct and customized supply needs.

H&E Opens New Georgia Branch

H&E Equipment Services Inc. (H&E) has opened a new branches in Georgia and Pennsylvania.

The Georgia branch is located in Fairburn. It’s the company’s fourth Atlanta-area facility and its sixth in the state of Georgia. The 9,692-square-foot facility sits on 4.5-acres with a fully fenced yard area, offices, and a separate repair shop with four service bays. It’s capable of handling a variety of construction and general industrial equipment for customers in the southwest metro Atlanta area.

“H&E has responded to the strong Atlanta construction market by recently opening a branch north of the city and now Fairburn to the south, extending our reach to customers all around the Atlanta area. This expansion creates a cluster approach for equipment availability. With nearby access to I-85, our new location allows us to respond to our customers quickly and efficiently,” said Director of Operations Mike Allen. “The projected construction market forecast of nearly $60 billion over the next five years means that we are optimally positioned to provide the needed equipment to a variety of job sites. The Fairburn branch specializes in the rental of aerial lifts, telescopic forklifts, earthmoving machinery, compaction equipment, generators, compressors and more.

The new Pennsylvania branch is in Philadelphia. The 15,400-square-foot facility sits on 2.75-acres with a fully fenced yard area, offices, and a separate repair shop with six service bays. It’s capable of handling a variety of construction and general industrial equipment for customers in southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.

Top Doosan Dealer of 2021

Barry Equipment was the overall top-performing Doosan dealer in North America in 2021. The company was founded in 1985 by Tom Barry and has been a Doosan dealer since 2004. In early 2022, Barry Equipment announced a new location in South Windsor, Conn., complementing two locations in Webster, Mass. The company serves customers in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York.

The new facility is the largest of ASCO’s 24 locations with 15,000 square feet dedicated to sales and rental, a 25,000-square-foot service shop that includes 14 super bays, 5,700 square feet of warehousing for parts and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor wash bay.
