Skilled tradespeople such as electricians, plumbers and construction workers rely on safe driving to keep themselves and their communities protected. In recognition of National Tradesman Day (Sept. 19) and to support that effort, Linxup has released a new guide, How to Start a Fleet Safety Program: Earn Trust, Get Driver Buy-In, and Make Safety Stick.
The guide emphasizes the benefits of strong safety programs, including fewer accidents, lower insurance costs and greater productivity. A recent Linxup survey found that 84% of fleet managers believe employees would adopt safety technology if they understood how it protected them, and 93% agreed their teams perform better when safety is prioritized.
Key questions for building a program include identifying decision makers, setting priorities, training employees and measuring success. The guide also warns against common missteps, such as rolling out too many changes at once or relying solely on technology without coaching.
Linxup said the resource is designed to help fleet managers create practical, effective safety programs that reduce risks and strengthen driver buy-in.
