STUDSON has released its SHK-1 Type II safety helmet equipped with the new HighBar buckle-free retention system, now available for workers in construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities and industrial maintenance.

The HighBar system replaces traditional four-point nylon chinstraps with a single polymer strap designed to offer a more adjustable and hygienic fit. The strap arms rotate up for storage and rotate back down for use, and workers can tighten or loosen the strap with one hand using a twist dial, which is an advantage when wearing gloves or handling equipment.

STUDSON says the simplified system aims to make proper helmet use more likely on busy jobsites by reducing discomfort and improving breathability. The polymer strap material is easy to clean, minimizes skin contact and helps keep workers cooler.

The SHK-1 model continues to use Koroyd’s welded polymer tubes for impact absorption and ventilation. It also includes integrated Twiceme Technology, allowing users to upload optional medical information for first responders in an emergency.
