STUDSON has introduced the SHK-2 industrial safety helmet, featuring a KOROYD interior designed to provide impact protection and increased airflow. The helmet was unveiled at the 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo in Indianapolis and is designed for applications including civil construction, utilities, oil and gas and other industrial work.
The SHK-2 is STUDSON’s first industrial safety helmet to use KOROYD throughout the interior instead of EPS foam. The welded tubes are designed to create crumple zones for impact absorption while allowing airflow through the helmet to help dissipate heat.
The helmet is designed to comply with the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2026 Type II+ standard, which includes testing for top and lateral impacts as well as chin strap retention, roll-off and off-center force transmission.
STUDSON said the SHK-2 also underwent third-party testing for penetration, environmental resistance and high-velocity impacts, along with field testing involving construction and industrial crews.
