HCSS announced a leadership transition as Steve McGough retired as CEO after more than 20 years with the construction software company. Chief Financial Officer Drew Thomas will succeed McGough as CEO.
The change comes after HCSS completed its acquisition by Nemetschek Build & Construct on July 1. McGough will remain involved as a member of the Nemetschek Build & Construct Advisory Committee.
McGough joined HCSS in 2005 and served in multiple leadership roles before becoming CEO in 2022. During his tenure, he helped expand the company's presence in heavy civil construction software and previously served as chairman of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association.
Thomas joined HCSS as chief financial officer in 2022 and played a key role in the company's strategy and integration with Nemetschek Build & Construct. Prior to HCSS, he held leadership positions with technology companies focused on growth and business expansion.
According to the company, Thomas will lead HCSS as it continues developing construction management software and AI-driven technologies following the acquisition.
