GA Gov. Deal Stumps for Referendum on 1-Cent Sales Tax for Transportation

'The Atlanta region's best opportunity to improve transportation is to support next year's referendum on a penny sales tax increase to fund projects'

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal said Monday that the Atlanta region's best opportunity to improve transportation is to support next year's regional referendum. Deal said he would personally advocate for the penny sales tax increase to fund a list of regional transportation projects.

"Many of you have worked on this project," Deal said. "The round-table process has moved fairly smoothly. This is an opportunity for us to have projects with regional significance."
