Diesel Rises 1.9¢ to $4.142; Highest Price Since August 2008

Eight weeks of rising pump prices take diesel into the range of the record-setting summer of 2008

The price of diesel rose for the eighth straight week, 1.9 cents to $4.142 a gallon to reach its highest price since the record-setting summer of 2008, according to the Department of Energy's weekly survey of filling stations.

Gasoline rose 3.8 cents to $3.867, its eighth straight gain and the 12th in the past 13 weeks.
