MN Legislature Approves Changes to State's Responsible Contractor Act

Unanimously passed bill fixes some language in the 2014 law that contractors found objectionable

The Minnesota House and Senate both unanimously passed a bill to fix some language contractors found objectionable in the 2014 Responsible Contractor Act, which makes public construction projects worth more than $50,000 off-limits for contractors with certain violations, including failure to pay the prevailing wage.

Some changes include clarifying language in the original bill, easing administrative and paperwork burdens and changes related to the verification process.
