Master Builder Solutions has released MasterEase 5000, a water-reducing and conditioning admixture that supports concrete rheological properties. The solution facilitates pumping, placing, consolidating and finishing characteristics.
Plastic Properties of Concrete
The next-generation patented polymer technology reinforces the plastic properties of concrete, supporting concrete producers and concrete contractors. This helps with challenges related to working with blended cements, manufactured sands and crushed aggregates in low CO2 concrete mixtures.
“I am proud of the groundbreaking technologies we are introducing to the market, tailored to meet specific local requirements. MasterEase 5000 exemplifies our commitment to pioneering innovative, localized solutions that drive decarbonization in the construction industry," said Dr. Boris Gorella, CEO of Master Builders Solutions.
Acting as a conditioner, MasterEase 5000 admixture facilitates short mixing time, low pumping pressure, flowability and a reliable finish with fewer trowel passes.
“We are pleased to provide our concrete producer customers and contractors with the rheological benefits that the MasterEase 5000 admixture enables, making concrete easier to work with, especially when being challenged by raw materials in low CO2 concrete mixtures," said Dr. Bruce J. Christensen, president U.S. and Canada, Master Builders Solutions.
Versatile Applications and Workability Retention
Developed for versatile use, MasterEase 5000 is designed for both ready mixed concrete and precast concrete, offering flexibility for varied applications, including paving, slabs-on-ground, high rise structures, hollow core slabs, bridge girders and more. MasterEase 5000 can be used in concrete mixtures at all slump levels from dry cast to low slump to self-consolidating concrete.
"The improved rheology and extended workability are significant benefits for contractors aiming for accelerated job completion and better overall performance," said Serpil Boy Aral, product marketing manager, Master Builders Solutions. "The improved concrete performance and the resulting acceleration of the work also help concrete producers and contractors optimize the use of truck fleets and minimize wear on mixers, pumps, and pipelines," says Boy Aral.
MasterEase 5000 supports sustainable concrete mixtures, making them easier to produce and place. This helps engineers and architects reduce Global Warming Potential (GWP). Additionally, the possibility of further reducing water while maintaining concrete rheology creates new opportunities for concrete mixture designs.
The versatile MasterEase 5000 admixture can be used on its own or as a supplement to other water-reducing admixtures, offering flexibility for various applications. It meets the ASTM C494/C494M standards for Type A water-reducing admixtures.
