Manufacturer Construction Innovations says its Bolt Star reusable bolt template can improve pole base construction efficiency by 57% by eliminating the building of wood bolt templates. Bolt Star is designed to hold four anchor bolts and the structural rebar cage in place during the pour of 18- and 24- and 30-in. light-pole bases or round column form. Xenoy polycarbonate material has five times greater low-temperature impact resistance and improved chemical resistance than ABS plastic.

  • The 30-inch version accepts the Xtender adaptor for nested forming tubes
  • Arched arms allow workers to trowel finish the top of the base without removing the template
  • Adjustable bolt slots for bolt circle patterns ranging from 7 in. to 14 in.
  • Cage tie slots help keep the rebar cage centered in the concrete form

Morley Construction faced a tight schedule and intricate architectural concrete forming requirements on the new San Diego Central Library, which was designed by Rob Quigley and destined to become an iconic figure in the city’s skyline.
