More Than $140,000 Raised for Families of Fallen Construction Workers

The second IOWA Construction Angels Golf Outing raised more than $142,000 to benefit Iowa families of construction workers who have tragically lost their lives on the job by providing financial aid, grief counseling and scholarships.

The Legacy Golf Course in Norwalk, Iowa, was host to the IOWA Construction Angels Golf Outing, run by the non-profit organization Construction Angels, on Sept. 11, 2024. The event saw over 190 golfers take to the greens and raised more than $142,000 to benefit Iowa families of construction workers who have tragically lost their lives on the job by providing financial aid, grief counseling and scholarships. The even was teamed by Cemen Tech and Master Builders of Iowa.

Construction Angels Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that provides immediate financial assistance and grief counseling to children (19 years and younger) and spouses left behind when a construction worker is involved in a work-related fatality. The non-profit offers construction scholarships to qualified applicants, including surviving children of fallen workers. Its vision is to be the immediate source of support for construction families when the unthinkable happens while promoting family values, job site safety awareness, continued education and support for “ONE OF OUR OWN.”

Cemen Tech's CEO and President Connor Deering went on record expressing their pride to lead such of an event that gives back to the families of the state. “Seeing the industry come together to raise awareness and funding for Construction Angels shows our deep sense of community and responsibility to each other. It’s truly an honor to contribute to such a meaningful cause," he added.
