In an effort at easing the permitting and rebuilding process for those impacted by the wildfires across Los Angeles, PermitFlow launched ReconstructLA with initiatives designed to help start reconstruction. Several construction tech companies have also agreed to participate in the program, such as AIA Contract Documents, BigRentz, BlueBeam, Buildxact, The Contractor Consultants, and Miter.
PermitFlow is a centralized platform that helps home builders and contractors manage all aspects of construction permitting, from preparation and submission through approval. With real-time updates and complete transparency, builders and contractors can track permit status at a glance. Now, as Los Angeles begins to look at rebuilding and the State and City adjust permitting processes to allow for faster rebuilds, it is more important than ever to have a single, up-to-date source of truth for permits. This ensures builders can stay focused on homeowners and their homes, rather than navigating a maze of administrative processes.
According to the release:
"We have team members, clients, and partners living and working in California, and we understand the challenges of rebuilding after disaster strikes," says PermitFlow co-founder and CEO Francis Thumpasery. "Measures are being taken at the government level to lessen the burden on homeowners, builders, and contractors, and we want to help provide even more ease-of-mind as Angelenos rebuild."
ReconstructLA currently offers two initiatives designed to help homeowners, contractors, and homebuilders starting the process of rebuilding:
- Free Email Hotline for Homeowners and Builders: If you're navigating the rebuilding process and need guidance, reach out to [email protected]. The PermitFlow team is ready to answer your questions—completely free of charge.
- Free and Discounted PermitFlow Access for Builders and Contractors: For those planning to rebuild 10 or more homes, PermitFlow is offering free and discounted access for end-to-end permitting of that rebuilding work. Fill out the form at go.permitflow.com/reconstruct-la, and a member of PermitFlow's team will reach out directly. PermitFlow will donate 100% of any proceeds to charitable organizations directly supporting individuals affected by the fires.
In addition to PermitFlow's email hotline for homeowners and discounted access for builders and contractors, the ReconstructLA team is proud to announce participation from key players in the construction tech space:
- AIA Contract Documents will provide some contract templates at no cost to help reduce residential contracting risks. For renovations: AIA A105 Owner/Contractor Agreement. For new builds: AIA A110 Owner/Contractor agreement. For architect/owner agreements: AIA B110 Owner/Architect agreement
- BigRentz, an enterprise equipment rental and procurement solution, will donate 10% of proceeds from projects originating through the ReconstructLA program to Habitat for Humanity — a long-time partner of BigRentz — which has affirmed its commitment to providing lasting solutions for families affected by the disaster.
- Buildxact, a project management platform for builders, is offering a free six-month subscription to help builders manage everything from estimates to accounting as they navigate the rebuilding efforts in Los Angeles. Use code RECONSTRUCTLA6MONTHCOUPON to get a free 6-month subscription before June 30, 2025.
- The Contractor Consultants is offering their $2,000 hiring course at no charge for all construction companies across California helping to rebuild communities affected by the wildfires. The course equips contractors with the tools to attract, hire, and retain top talent efficiently.
- Miter, an all-in-one people management and compliance platform for the building and construction industry, is offering 50 percent off the implementation fee to help make hiring fast and easy.
