Schäffer has expanded its lineup with its most compact articulated loaders yet, introducing a new class of machines that are lighter, more maneuverable, and more transportable than the company’s previous smallest model – the 2428, which featured 25 hp and weighed 4,012 lbs. The new Schäffer 14e and Schäffer 1422 SGT provide operators with a choice between zero-emission electric power or traditional diesel reliability, offering versatile, high-performance solutions for construction, landscaping, municipal work, and numerous other sectors. Both loaders feature articulated steering, hydrostatic drive, and Schäffer’s renowned German engineering, ensuring exceptional maneuverability, efficiency, and durability in a lightweight, transportable design.

The Schäffer 14e is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery (12.2 kWh), delivering up to 2.5 hours of runtime for medium-duty tasks. A 9.6 kW (12.9 hp) electric motor powers both the hydrostatic all-wheel drive and hydraulics. The battery charges to 80% in 2.5 hours using a 240V Level 2 charger or a standard 240V outlet, ensuring quick turnaround.

The Schäffer 1422 SGT features a 22-hp (16.2 kW) Kubota diesel engine, offering continuous operation without charging downtime. Its hydrostatic drive provides smooth, fuel-efficient performance, making it ideal for extended shifts and remote jobsites.

Despite their small footprints, both models deliver 1,786 lbs (810 kg) lifting capacity and a 7.3-ft (2.23 m) lift height at the tool pivot. Their articulated steering ensures excellent agility, even on uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

The 14e’s key advantage is its zero-emission, low-noise operation, ideal for indoor work, urban areas, and noise-sensitive environments like parks and cemeteries. Meanwhile, the 1422 SGT offers traditional diesel reliability, better suited for demanding outdoor applications requiring longer run times. With operating weights of 2,965 lbs (1,345 kg) for the 14e and 2,756 lbs (1,250 kg) for the 1422 SGT, both loaders are light enough to be towed by a half-ton truck. At just 35 inches (0.89 m) wide, they easily navigate narrow pathways, doorways, and tight jobsites.

Both models feature energy-efficient LED work lights and an ergonomic operator station for all-day productivity. The 14e delivers smooth, low-vibration operation, while the 1422 SGT maintains Schäffer’s legendary diesel durability.
