Brokk Inc., the North American distributor for Ecovolve equipment, has introduced the battery-powered EL500 mini loader to the North American market. Designed for construction and demolition applications, the EL500 has a lifting capacity of up to 1,100 pounds and can operate for a full shift on a single battery charge, according to the company.

With a width of less than 32 inches, the EL500 is designed to work in tight spaces where larger equipment may not fit. Its electric powertrain also produces less noise than diesel-powered equipment, making it suitable for indoor projects and jobsites with noise restrictions.

The machine features a heavy-duty chassis and reinforced structure for demanding applications. Contractors can also use a range of attachments, including buckets, pallet forks, floor scrapers, hydraulic breakers and vacuum lifts.

Brokk said the electric loader requires less maintenance than comparable diesel-powered machines because it eliminates fuel use, oil changes and many moving parts. The EL500 is powered by a 9.6-kWh AGM battery and includes audible and visual alerts to provide operators with machine status information.
