Case updated its 47,800-lb. CX210C to join its C Series of excavators and gained 10 percent in fuel economy, 3 percent cycle-time reductions and a 7 percent lift-capacity increase.
The 160-hp engine uses cooled exhaust gas recirculation to meet EPA's Tier 4 Interim exhaust limits. Case's Intelligent Hydraulic System overcomes the fuel-economy disadvantages of CEGR and accounts for much of the CX210C's fuel savings. Boom Economy Control reduces engine speed during the boom-down and swing operations, while the Auto Economy Control reduces engine speed when the joysticks are inactive. Swing Relief Control technology manages the hydraulic power allotted at the start of the swing operation, and Spool Stroke Control creates an automatic pressure adjustment during digging operations.
The CX210C offers three power modes – SP (speed priority), H (heavy duty) and A (automatic) – to allow operators to choose the best mix of power and fuel efficiency.
Case says its new cab offers 19 percent better visibility from the operator’s seat (including a new roof skylight) compared to previous models. It has 7 percent more overall space and 25 percent more airflow. Air conditioning performance was increased 8 percent. A rearview camera feeds video to a 7-inch LED monitor in the cab, enhancing jobsite safety.
