Noregon has released JPRO Professional v3, an update to its diagnostic software that introduces new features and expanded coverage for on- and off-highway vehicles and equipment.

The release adds a CAN Bus Diagnostics feature, which allows technicians to view voltage and resistance readings directly within the software. This provides an alternative to using hardware like multimeters or oscilloscopes for these measurements.

“CAN Bus Diagnostics will save technicians a lot of time by giving them voltage and resistance values in the application,” said Jason Hedman, product manager at Noregon. “The biggest benefit is reducing dependency on hardware for those measurements, especially in systems that require various levels of disassembly to reach an access point.”

The new technology also enables additional functions within JPRO, including new CAN-related faults that alert users to communication issues such as a short circuit. Technicians can also graph live CAN voltage readings to identify patterns of interference or grounding problems.

JPRO Professional v3 includes updated coverage for on-highway brands including Cummins engines, Eaton transmissions and Ford medium-duty vehicles. It also adds emissions faults and data for new Volvo Trucks North America VN4 architecture vehicles from Volvo and Mack. Off-highway coverage additions include new support for John Deere and Kubota equipment.

The update is available at no additional cost to JPRO users with an active subscription.
