ESAB’s new RobustFeed AVS ECHO wire feeder — first introduced at FABTECH 2024 — is now available through welding supply distributors and online retailers. The automatic voltage-sensing feeder is designed to work with the Warrior® 500i CC/CV multiprocess welder (equipped with the ECHO technology upgrade), allowing users to adjust voltage and wire feed speed directly at the feeder.
The system uses ESAB’s new “ECHO” communication technology to enable voltage adjustment without a communication or control cable to the power source. This setup simplifies cable management and reduces the need for trips back and forth to the power source, improving productivity and minimizing potential safety risks.
Key features include:
- The feeder compensates for voltage drops across long welding cables by taking a measurement on the first weld and adjusting all subsequent welds accordingly.
- Eliminates the need for a dedicated control cable, reducing clutter and potential cable damage.
- Housed in a durable, IP54-rated case for protection against dust and water splashes.
- Delivers up to 500 amps, with a 100% duty cycle at 350 amps — among the highest in its class.
- Uses a 4-wheel drive system and encoder-controlled feeding for consistent wire delivery.
- Compatible with a wide range of Tweco® MIG guns.
The design is particularly suited for applications in construction, repair, shipbuilding, offshore, and railcar manufacturing, where cable length and mobility are often limiting factors.
