Metabo HPT has announced the launch of the 36V MultiVolt Cordless Brushless 1-1/8-in. SDS Plus Rotary Hammer with UVP (model DH3628DA) for cordless demolition applications on construction sites. This tool is capable of drilling up to 119 holes per charge.**
The rotary hammer features User Vibration Protection (UVP), auto stop for preset drilling, LED level with built-in sensor for straight drilling and Reactive Force Control. Like all 36V MultiVolt tools, it accepts any MultiVolt battery for power and can also accept the Metabo HPT 36V AC Adapter. The DH3628DA is kitted with a 18V/36V 4.0Ah MultiVolt battery, rapid charger, side handle, depth gauge and carrying case. It is also available as a tool body only (model DH3628DAQ4).
With brushless motor technology, this 36V MultiVolt Rotary Hammer delivers power with an impact energy of 2.3 ft. lbs. with up to 950 rpm and 4,300 bpm for high drilling speeds and demolition performance. There are two speed modes: normal speed from 0-950 rpm and low speed mode from 0-750 rpm for more control. With three operating modes (drilling, hammering and hammer drilling), a responsive variable speed trigger and weighing only 7 lbs., it can be used in overhead applications. The tool accepts SDS Plus shank bits and has a 1-1/8-in. capacity in concrete, 1/2-in. capacity in steel and 1-1/4-in. capacity in wood.
The design of the handle grip being in alignment with the drill bit head supports drilling force. Changing bits is facilitated by a one-push bit mounting system. An on-tool LED light is available for working in dark spaces.
User Vibration Protection (UVP) from the dynamic vibration absorber and low vibration handle supports drilling. The auto-stop feature has preset drilling times for repetitive drilling applications. The LED level with a built-in sensor detects the tilt of the tool and indicates when it is straight for precision drilling. Users can work safely if the tool bit is suddenly overburdened during operation as the Reactive Force Control (RFC) automatically engages and stops the motor before the entire tool jerks.
For a clean and safe working environment, a cordless dust extraction attachment for this tool is sold separately (part #379135M). This attachment uses the fan inside the tool body for suction. The cordless rotary hammer can also connect to a vacuum or dust extractor using optional accessories (#306885 dust collector assembly, #378023 dust collection adapter set or #378054 dust collection cup assembly).
All 36V MultiVolt cordless tools from Metabo HPT feature the ability to be converted to corded use with the Metabo HPT AC Adapter (model ET36A - sold separately). Users can get the functionality of two tools (cordless and corded) in one. Use the SDS Plus Rotary Hammer cordless; however, if the battery needs to be recharged or you want to save battery life when near a power source, just plug in with the AC adapter.
