Werner has introduced the Ready Step, a new line of lightweight, compact fiberglass step ladders. Designed for residential contractors, HVAC technicians and electricians, the ladder aims to improve transport, setup speed and worksite organization. It is available in 4-foot and 5.5-foot models.

The Ready Step is 15% lighter than comparable standard step ladders and has a slim 4-inch profile when closed, making it easier to transport and store in work vehicles or tight jobsite spaces. Despite its lighter weight, it maintains a 300-pound load capacity and meets or exceeds ANSI and OSHA requirements.
"Professional tradesmen need a ladder that’s stable, portable and provides fast set up,” said Shannon Kennedy, senior director of product marketing at Werner. “The Ready Step combines safety and durability with a lightweight design, wide platform and a work top to keep tools close at hand.”
Key features of the Werner Ready Step include:
- Extra-Large Platform: A slip-resistant standing surface provides three to five times more standing room than a traditional step ladder, reducing user fatigue.
- Integrated Tool Top: The LOCKTOP ladder top is designed to securely hold ten different tools, including an impact driver, screwdrivers and small parts. It is also compatible with Werner’s LOCK-IN accessory system.
- Quick Setup: A one-handed, no-pinch mechanism allows for fast opening and closing.
- Enhanced Durability: The design includes EDGE bracing for added rail protection and a longer service life.
