Verkada introduced new technology for vehicle fleets, building operations and physical security at its annual customer conference in Miami.
The company launched Verkada Transportation, a fleet-focused product line that includes ruggedized cameras, a 5G and Wi-Fi vehicle gateway and vehicle diagnostic integration. The system allows security teams to access footage from moving or parked vehicles and search events by location, driving behavior or vehicle health.
Verkada also introduced Sound Systems, a cloud-managed audio platform that can connect existing speakers and amplifiers or use new Power over Ethernet network speakers.
The company introduced Catalyst, a read-only Model Context Protocol integration that connects Verkada's Command platform with third-party AI systems. The integration is designed to support natural-language workflows, reports and other operational tasks.
Additional updates include new computer vision alerts, thermal and FIPS-validated cameras, a Skydio drone integration and new access control and alarm products. Verkada also introduced Maps, a 3D digital twin that displays connected devices and alerts within a facility.
