AlignOps has added BLE Asset Tracking to its FleetWatcher platform, giving contractors visibility into the location of smaller tools and equipment such as concrete saws, excavator and loader buckets, generators, light towers and angle grinders.
The feature uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to identify tracked assets within a 100-foot radius. Users can view assets by individual item, jobsite or asset class through the FleetWatcher app.
During a scan, the app searches for BLE devices for up to 30 seconds before displaying the results. A five-minute cooldown follows each scan, while newly activated devices are automatically added to the tracked asset list.
The feature is intended to help contractors locate smaller assets that can be misplaced, left behind or assigned to the wrong jobsite.
