Oklahoma Plant Expansion Could Bring Up to 1,000 Construction Jobs

A $1.3 billion expansion of the Koch Nitrogen plant in Enid, Okla., expected to bring in up to 1,000 contractors

According to a report from Enid News and Eagle, the $1.3 billion expansion of the Koch Nitrogen plant in Enid, Okla., will begin in mid-September. Koch is calling the facility one of the largest fertilizer production plants in North America.

“This investment by Koch Nitrogen is one of the largest construction projects in the history of Koch Industries,” Koch Industries President David Robertson said in a press release.

According to the article, the company expects to bring in up to 1,000 contractors during construction over the next three years. Black & Veatch is providing the planning, engineering and procurement services. KBR is the project's construction manager, and Stamicarbon is providing the urea synthesis and granulation technology.

The completed plant will provide jobs for about 200 permanent employees.
